Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion designer noted especially for collections of men.

Armani started his career as showcases designer. From 1960 to 1972 he worked as a designer for Nino Cerruti house and then worked as a freelance designer for other fashion houses before setting up his own brand.

He presented his first collection of clothes for men in 1975, followed by a line for women in the same year.

Armani has gained a wider audience for his work with the popular film “American Gigolo” in which his character Richard Gere wore Armani clothes.

The brand has expanded throughout the 1970s and early 1980s with jeans, underwear, accessories, and an agreement with L’Oreal perfumes and cosmetics.

Giorgio Armani introduced Armani for Women in 1982, followed by Armani for Men in 1984.

These two “flavors” are part of a long and successful series of scents launched by Armani, continuing until the 21st century.
